An overview of various gift items on display shelves such as frames, hats, mugs, signs, and more.
It can be a chore to find just the right gift for mom on Mother’s Day. It’s her special day and we want to honor her and show how much she means to us. There’s a lot of pressure to find that “perfect” gift. Well, don’t worry. Just head over to your local Co-op for plenty of gift ideas that any mother would be pleased to receive. Consider these suggestions:

No. 1 — Gardening tools and accessories. Many moms love planting flowers and gardening, and it’s always easier with functional tools that work like they should. How about a new set of hand tools like trowels, cultivators, and weeders? You’ll get bonus points if you throw in a new pair of work gloves.

No. 2 — Comfortable workwear and boots. In addition to those gloves, most Co-op stores offer a wide selection of sturdy boots and workwear. They help protect against poison ivy, briars, and sticks, among other hazards. Brands can vary by location, but you’re assured of a good selection and value.

No. 3 — Bedding plants and hanging baskets. Choose from a wide selection of plants at your Co-op for those moms who want to grow their own. Or select a hanging basket or potted flower, if your mother prefers.

No. 4 — Bird feeders and houses. It’s the perfect time of year to hang a new bird feeder or house for your feathered friends. A wide selection of seed is also available to attract a variety of birds.

No. 5 — Home décor items. Many Co-ops have rural home decorations in stock. Help mom spruce up her home with rural knick-knacks, wall hangings, or yard and garden decorations. Again, the selection will vary by location, but there’s usually something for every taste.

Plan a trip to your local Co-op for further ideas, stock up on great presents, and be ready to celebrate your mother in style this year.
